At Studio EO summer workshops young designers explore architecture through storytelling, drawing, crafting, and creative building activities. Students learn basic concepts like shapes, structures, neighborhoods, and how buildings help people live, learn, and play.
Led by a husband-and-wife team, this workshop combines creativity, education, and real-world design experience. Mary is a Fairfax County Public Schools 2nd grade teacher known for creating a creative, supportive, and engaging learning environment for young students. Juan is a licensed architect with over 10 years of experience designing community projects including elementary schools and fire stations. Together, they create a fun, hands-on experience that introduces kids to architecture through creativity and design.

This architecture workshop introduces students to the creative process architects use to design buildings and cities. Participants will sketch ideas, experiment with structures and materials, solve real-world design challenges, and build architectural models inspired by famous buildings and sustainable design concepts.
